Ever since my wedding back in June 2010 I have had a love affair for battery operated candles. Now, I’ll be the first to admit this is odd but after dealing with the maintenance free bliss I’m converted.
Did you know that when you burn a candle the wax and smoke are not good for you? Who would have thought, right? It was something I always wondered about but placed on the back burner since I loved the feeling of cozy and comfort that candles produced. With battery operated candles, you can still have the flicker or the candle teasing the wall but sans chemicals. Fabulous.
There is also the obvious upside, no fire hazard. Christmas season is coming and having an open flame next to those trees is just dangerous. You hear on the news at least twice a season that a house fire happened due to a candle next to a tree or decoration. It’s preventable. We all tend to forget those candles are burning, it’s just an accident waiting to happen.
