To be honest, this is a matter of pride for my family and me. My Poppy Sol started this business in 1929. It brings tears to my eyes as children and grandchildren of Poppy’s old-time customers still visit us today and share tales of their trips to our store and of my grandfather.
We believe in doing things the old-fashioned way and having customers for life. This is what we live and breathe.
I was sent Chocolate Peppermint Bark and Astronaut Ice Cream to review. I’m going to start by saying the Chocolate Peppermint Bark did not last long. Oh my goodness it was so good and just what I needed that day. I was sent a lot, and had it all gone within’ two days (oops). It has dark and white chocolate with pieces of candy cane on top. The perfect treat for the holiday season. It was crunchy and then kind of went chewy (I mean this in a good way). Just thinking about it makes me crave it again. I have to be honest, it’s probably one of the best tasting things I have ever reviewed. I eagerly recommend it to all of you.
I also reviewed the Neapolitan Astronaut Ice Cream. I’m going to start by saying that it was different. Really different. It is freeze dried, but as soon as you sink your teeth in it, it tastes like ice cream. My least favorite flavor of icecream (other then strawberry) is Neapolitan, but I liked this! The Astronaut Ice Cream has an appealing crunch when you take a bite, the texture at first is a bit different and it did take me a couple bites to get used to it but in the long run it was great. This is very similar to the freeze dried ice cream that the astronauts eat in space. This would make a great stocking stuffer for kids of all ages!
