PIE-IN-A-PIE

PUMPKIN & APPLE 

This is the bewitching story of how to make an apple pie, how to make a pumpkin pie, and how to snap your fingers to turn them into a unique holiday treat! This pie-in-a-pie is the best Thanksgiving dessert and a real crowd pleaser.

- Flour - Cinnamon - Salt - Nutmeg - Sugar - Salt - Green Apples - Lemon Juice - Pure Pumpkin - Pumpkin Pie Spice - Eggs - Premade Pie Crusts

Ingredients

Preheat oven to 400°. Spray pie plate with coconut oil.  Roll crust out and set it in pie plate, sticking the dough to the plate. Flute the edges.

Roll out the second crust and use a butter knife to cut in a spiral all the way around, leaving a circle. Gently pull the spiraled dough away from the middle. It should look like a ribbon.

Take the first strip and create a circle in the middle of your pie.  Continue arranging the crust. Peel and chop 2 green apples and add a squeeze of lemon.

Prepare cinnamon/sugar mixture and pour over apples and stir.  Place the leftover circle of dough over the mini apple pie, sealing apples inside.

Combined canned pumpkin, eggs, evaporated milk, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and sugar.  Pour into empty cavity of pie. Bake for 30 minutes, then turn oven down to 350° for another 20. Cool on pie rack for 1-2 hours.
