Szechuan Chicken is made with tender marinated chicken breast and a homemade sauce featuring fiery Szechuan peppers. It’s spicy, hearty, and full of complex flavor!
- Chicken Breast - Sesame Oil - Soy Sauce - Cornstarch - Rice Wine Vinegar - Powdered Chili Szechuan sauce - Hoisin Sauce - Red Bell Pepper - Szechuan Peppercorns - Red Chili - Garlic
Whisk all the chicken marinade ingredients together. Then add chicken pieces and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to overnight.
Cook chicken in hot oil, about 2 minutes on each side. Drain and set aside. Mix Hoisin sauce, water, cornstarch, and sugar in a small bowl. Set it aside.
Sauté Szechuan peppercorns, chilies, and other aromatics, then stir in chicken and prepared sauce. Serve over a bed of white rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion.
