Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add diced onion and stir for 5-6 minutes until softened, then incorporate minced garlic and stir for one minute.
Add sliced mushrooms and stir for 3 minutes until soft. Add minced meat and let cook, stirring occasionally for 3-4 minutes.
When the meat is pale brown, add heavy cream, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine and reduce heat to low.
Let simmer for 8-10 minutes to infuse flavor.
Cook your choice of pasta according to package instructions.
For thicker sauce make a slurry: mix 1 tbsp of cornstarch with 1tblsp hot water. Pour in the slurry a little at a time, mixing until it thickens. Repeat with more slurry until desired consistency is obtained.
